Totally disappointed with this piece of news coming out of my Alma Mater.

My hat-tip to Bishop John D'Arcy.

I don't understand the connection between a graduation ceremony and abortion.

Personally, I'm split on this issue as I have personal experience of it. I don't think an abortion should be completely outlawed but regulated with access given to the really needy cases:

1) Rape victims, sexual abuse, incest, etc. where having a child can risk the mother's health and sanity, not to mention what kind of world the kid will enter to.

2)Non-traumatic pregnancies, yet unwanted babies where again, having the child risks the mothers health and well-being, as well as the child's, and adoption is not an option as the pregnancy itself can cause harm to the mother and/or unborn child.

I believe wherever possible, the child should be born and taken care of by foster parents, if not their own. However, I still believe abortion should be available because by regulating and legalizing it properly, you can save alot of babies and/or mothers from resorting to far worse and illegal operations.

If a mother does not want a child, yet is stuck with one anyone because she was denied an abortion, what is to say she will not attempt to miscarry, leading to a malformed child, or kill the child after birth, or dump them? There are so many children in worse conditions because the mother was denied proper counseling and options. I would not like a child to be born, if to be born hating or having a horrible view of the world. That's one way (of many) that sociopaths and criminals are created.

PS: the picture was scary - like something out of alien or evolution or something.
