Broke already?

Close to 18 months that we've been here, this is the first time we've received a (payment) reminder on our cell phone.

I suppose things are really bad here financially that prompts a Government-owned phone company to send out a reminder for under ten bucks, that too for a cell subscription that's just under two weeks old.

Maybe, this one's a first sign of what people say when they say 'things are gonna get worse'!

wow - is that for wasel or for post-paid?

Post-paid (Roaming) and that's for Jemma's (new) iPhone 3G.

Ah - the super-expensive plans :)

Well if it's any consolation, they sent me a message saying that about 1000 dhs was due on my post-paid account two months ago (haven't paid the bill in a while) and they still haven't cut it off.

is it 500+ per month for the iphone? if so, you're screwed.

Etisalat has a rule that they can cut off any line at any time if more than 500 AED is due.

So say you have the highest al shamil package which is something like 650 AED/month.

First day you sign up and get it installed they charge your account 650 in advance of the whole month, so technically speaking 650 is due on your account yes? which means that you now owe more than 500, which means Etisalat can cut it off when they want to (i.e. 1 second after you get it installed)

Their payment policies really make no sense at all.

Samuraisam:

That figures because we are on the post-paid plan of AED 925 upfront with AED 504/month for 12 months.
